Childrens Spot:
A short presentation made from time to time for children
in the 9am Sunday service, at St Columbas, in the
form of Godly Play. This is a way of presenting Bible stories using
flannel graph, and is
followed by a craft activity. You can read more about this inspiring form of spiritual
education for children at www.godlyplay.net.
Lay Pastoral Minister's Group:
Lay Pastoral Ministers are licensed to
lead services, administer the bread and wine during communion, preach (if their license is
so endorsed) and otherwise assist the parish priest in pastoral
duties. This group meets for fellowship and instruction on the 1st Tuesday of the month at
6.30am for worship, which is followed by a shared breakfast.
Sidespeople:
At the door to church services you are
greeted and welcomed by Sidespeople. Apart from welcome, these people also
fulfil a
number of other vital duties before, during and after services in Church. They are
there to assist those attending. The activities of the group are overseen by three
coordinators - one each for the 7.30am and 9am services, and a roster coordinator.
Contact the Parish Office if you would
like to go on the Sidespeople's roster.
Reader's Group & Intercessors:
Some members of
the congregation are on a roster to read
or to say Intercessions at the
7.30am or 9am Sunday services. Let us know if you would like to be
on one of these rosters.
