Support Groups

Mothers’ Union:
A worldwide fellowship of women who prayerfully support and encourage family and marriage.

Meetings:

First Wednesday of the month at 10.00am at St Columba’s. At this gathering the Mothers' Union shares a Eucharist and morning tea.

Third Wednesday of the month at 1.30pm, St Columba’s. At this meeting the Mothers' Union shares fellowship and afternoon tea.

Fourth Thursday of the month at 9.30am at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, Moline Village. At this gathering the Mothers' Union shares an informal service, fellowship and morning tea.


ColumbaCare:
A general care group that responds to needs Expressed by parish members. This group responds as required to needs which include:

  • Transport
  • Food
  • Advocacy
  • Material and physical needs

Prayer Chain:
A prayer—support group that offers intercessory prayer for people who have requested prayer support. Prayer needs are distributed to the prayer chain as required.


Parish Pantry:
A help group that provides food for needy people. The pantry is open Tuesdays 10am—11.30am. Help is usually limited to people referred by Centrelink, and is available to any family no more than once a month. People requiring assistance can be referred to other help agencies. Parish members are available during these times for conversation and support.


YouthCare:
This group initiates and provides support for scripture teaching in Primary schools and chaplains in schools. This Parish along with other individuals and groups supports the chaplain at Yuluma Primary School.

The Guild is a fund-raising and support group for the Parish. It meets as needed, usually on the second Wednesday of the month at 11am, after the 10am Eucharist. This group also assists with the monthly Jumble Sales.
 


The Jumble Sale:
The Jumble Sale is run on the last Thursday of the month at St Columba’s, from 9am to noon. Things for sale include books, toys, kitchenware, accessories and pre-loved clothes, all priced to sell.  We receive donations of goods for sale.  Items can be dropped off at St Columba's on weekdays between 9am and noon.
